Thinking about getting into the pool business, kinda new to it. Was wondering ads worked in some places and not in others, like a pool business my buddy had in two cities where the same ad got very different results. Is phone book advertising still a thing? Or is it really online now.

Phone book? I'm sorry for laughing but man, that's ancient history now. I think in today's age, most people who consume advertisements don't even know what one is anymore. Maybe stick to Google Maps, local FB groups, and some SEO techniques! You'll get your money's worth.

Haha, I couldn't agree more, phone books feel like a blast from the past, don't they? Do you think using digital ads, like those on Google Maps or Facebook groups, actually gets better results? I'm curious about your go-to SEO tips, what's worked the best for you so far?

Ok, I would like to retract my laughter. All is really online now but there are still some newspapers where your ads might be a good fit. Don't lose hope!

No idea how things work in the pool business, but I do know a bit of marketing, and I'd recommend you try a bit of everything. Yeah, phone books are dead these days, but there could be a potential client or two there, just as newspaper ads and similar things from the past century. Everything is digital, so social media, newsletters and a good website is how you reach the modern generation.

Welcome to the pool biz! Ads can totally vary by location, what works in one city might not in another. Phone book ads are pretty much dead now lol sorry to say. Almost everyone searches online first. Your best bet is focusing on Google Ads, social media, and local SEO. In smaller towns, the oldschool ads might still work a bit, but online is where the real results are these days.
