Need someone to clear something for me

The pool in my weekend house is in need of fixing up and I spoke to a few people which only messed things up for me in terms of deciding. One of them said that I'll need to replace the coping and liner track with a coping and track combo, while another one said I didn't have to. To be fair, he didn't specify any specific course of action, so I'm at a loss. What should I do? The coping has a few cracks here and there and the liner looks like it's seen some better days.

Well..I'm no pro but, it might be smarter long term to go with the combo replacement, piecemealing the repairs can cost more down the line, especially in this case where you said the structure is already aging

You're right! that's sound logic. Piecemealing repairs, especially when the structure is already showing age, almost always cost more in the long run. Going with the coping and track combo replacement upfront is definitely the smarter longterm investment

If the coping has some cracks, it better be replaced fully, too. The material might have weakened over time on your weekend pool. See what I did there? Lol. Go for anything suggested that will benefit you long-term.

Last year, I faced a similar situation with my uncle's old pool. The coping was cracked, the liner was sagging, and there was a lot of conflicting advice out there. In the end, we decided on a coping/track combo, and honestly, we haven't had to mess with it since.

Is your liner showing any significant wear, like fading or stretching, or is it just a matter of age?
